Grandpa’s Attic

Nolan Monigold opened his first studio space at 2333 West Clifton in Cincinnati, OH. It started as a space to create freely, and opened his eyes to the entire world of live self-produced events. Coming up at the same time as house venues like ‘The Reef’ and ‘The Amish Motel’ this space was a sketchbook for future plans. Walls covered in hand-drawn doodles from those that visit, a height wall of everyone in the scene (including his landlord!), the Attic was a special space. ‘Sky Parlor’ by Filler was the first record to be cut in the space, and paved the way for the first feature album Nolan was involved with, ‘Radha’ by TasteFull. This was also the venue that started First Fridays, now carried on at Bellevue Pavilion right up the street!
